Family Home Evening in Hobble Creek Canyon
We decided to hurry and see the leaves before they all fall this week. We took dinner up the canyon and enjoyed the beautiful colors. It makes me want to plant maple trees in my yard. We had a good time playing around with the camera in the scenary, so enjoy!
We stopped to see these deer by the road. Sophia took the opportunity to empty her stomach (she hadn't been feeling well all day), so we took her shirt off and put her coat on. That's why she's got clevage showing in the following shots.

Goofing Off and the Terrible Flood
There is no real content to this post, but then there seems to be any real good content to life story right now either. We're just plugging along right now. Any who, we were goofing off last Sunday after naps with the camera as we enjoyed the weather and here is what we got.
Sophia enjoying one of the apples off the tree out back.
Nice bed head on these two, don't ya think?

So Sophia was irrate with me last week because I didn't bring my camera to dance class. I've been taking her picture through the summer and didn't think she even really cared. I was severely wrong. She gave me the crustiest of looks and totally pouted because I didn't take her picture at the end. It was so bad that her teacher noticed and took one to try to smooth over our relationship. So this week I had camera in hand, even if it is my crappy one, and snapped her photo. She's a fairy from Sleeping Beauty.

This may not be a blog worthy picture, but there is a story here. You see while I'm chatting and watching Gabriela's class, Sophia and Julianne are supposedly down the hall watching a video. Then next thing I know I here Julianne screaming in the distance. I go running thinking she's fallen down. As I run around the corner I encounter Sophia sitting in the floor taking her sweats off in front of the elevator. At first I thought maybe she put Julianne in the elevator, but I quickly realized that the screams weren't coming from in there so I run to the bathroom. What I saw was definately not what I expected to see. Julianne was sitting in the large trough-like concrete sink with the water running full throttle. She was soaked up to her neck in water. She had climbed into the sink using the step stool. I couldn't believe she hadn't gotten up there because it is pretty high up.

I had to go strip her down to her diaper and all I had to put on her was Gabriela's size 5 sweat shirt. So she trotted around like that for the next hour and a half. So embarassing. When I went to pick up Sophia's clothes that she had left in the floor, the pieces started coming together. The reason she took them off, was because they were soaking wet. Now I know the brains behind the mayhem. These kids always seem to get me.

Fairy Party at Macey's
My neighbor invited us to the Fairy Party at Macey's grocery store on Saturday. The girls got to make wings and wands and sample small fairy treats. Then they were off flying through the store looking for treasures. It a sight to behold...all twenty little girls zipping through the aisles. They had a good time and it was fun being with friends.

Whew, it's a good thing!
While having lunch today, Gabriela found the big square magnet, that comes stuck to the phone book, on the floor. This was the conversation that occured:
Gabriela: "Mom why do we need this?"
Me: "We don't"
Gabriela: "Then why do we have it?"
Me: "It's someone advertising for you to call them when your toilet is broke."
Gabriela: "Well it's a good thing we have a Papi to fix our toilets! What do people do when they don't have a Papi?"
Me: "Well I guess they would have to call that man."

1st day of Joy School
So today was our first day of Joy School at home with the girls. Everything always seems to go smoother in your mind then when you actually try to do it. Gabriela was totally into and kept telling me,"I love school." Sophia, on the other hand, was hit and miss. She was bouncing from here to there but would come back and join us when it fit her fancy. They like the crafts and stories and I think it will be way more fun once we get into the real lessons next week. We ended with this fun craft and a bike ride. You shave crayons using a potato peeler, put them inside a folded piece of paper, and then iron it. (If you do this, make sure you put the white paper inbetween some thicker paper to prevent it from getting on your iron.) They turned out way cute and the girls loved them. With that being said, I think I'm going to start posting some of our craft ideas on my Family Fun blog from here on out. It will be back up and running and hopefully worth you time to look at.

YES
During sacrament meeting today, we were having a tough time with the kids. Julianne and Sophia insist on fighting with each other, have listening issues, and emptying the color box into the hymnal holders on the back of the pews. Gabriela had buddied up with the bishop's daughter who is nine or ten years old. She was sitting about a body length or so away from me. An older gentleman got up to bear his testimony and this is what he said, "I believe in Jesus Christ, DO YOU?" Gabriela perks up, and with as much enthusiasm as she can muster, replies "YES!" You could hear the snickers and laughs all through the congregation. At least everyone knows where she stands. You think they are not listening, but oh you'd be surprised.

My FAVORITE time of the year!!!
I absolutey LOVE BYU FOOTBALL! I look forward to this time of year so much. This year I gave Miguel a new BYU shirt and all of the girls got their first shirts. We sang the Cougar fight song over breakfast and I have them brainwashed into going to BYU. What can I say...I love my alma mater.
That's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Julianne has turned into my smiler. I'm glad I've got one out of three.

Introducing THE AMAZING MOTHERS GUILD!
Well I'm not so sure you can see this very well, but click on it and you can read the invite. A great mom in my ward contacted me to get involved in a new mothers group. A place where we can share ideas and get advice from other moms. A place to make you and your kids feel a little more normal I suppose. Anyways anyone's invited to come. If you want directions, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you. If you are planning on coming let me know as well. I'm leading a discussion about having fun with your kids...because I'm the expert and all ;). Hope to see you there.
