Grocery Store Musical

Today I went to the grocery store with the girls. Macey's has these wonderful carts with cars on the front and the girls just to have to have one. It was such a funny trip though. For some reason the girls were in an exceptionally good mood, because they sang at the top of their lungs the whole half hour we were in there. It eventually turned into a musical and production once Sophia started hanging out the side like she was in an old technicolor musical, or like she was hanging off the side of a trolley in San Fran. I tried to illustrate for you. I was getting comments left and right about what a wonderful choir I had and everyone just smiled. My mother would have probably died but I thought, "who cares," their kids and they weren't getting out of the cart. I was laughing on the inside and falling in love with these little performers I've been blessed with. Sophia actually surprised me a bit. I would expect it out of Gabriela but Sophia gave her a run for her money in their version of Grocery Store Musical!

Spending all Day and the Evening outside.

I think the kids and I were outside the majority of the day. We started early by planing flowers and then Mom tried to cut grass. I couldn't figure out how to get it to crank, so we waited until Papi got home at lunch. Let's just say that I'm not very good at it and I can't cut a straight line to save my life. Do not look at what I'm wearing, they are my work clothes. I wouldn't have posted this picture if it wasn't for Julianne's face. Last night I decided to pull her around in the wagon and she loved it and was laughing, but I was laughing at the face she kept making. She kept her tongue hanging out the whole time. The other two obvioulsy jumped in and went around the yard until the horse wore out. I just love my backyard. I mean LOVE IT! We are truly blessed to have it here in Utah.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby
just becauseI didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy,
the love,the heartache,the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

Do you see my problem?

I think I am one of few women who actually have to do this crazy chore in the what, twenty first century. Do you have any idea what you are looking at? That my friends is the space in my kitchen that is supposed to hold a dishwasher. Instead my kids use it as a hangout. The other day the cousins were over and I found them huddled up inside there chewing away on my apples. O.k. I did throw Juilanne in their for the picture's sake, but she seems happy about it. So while they are making the most out of the empty space, I'm left doing this... Seriously people. It's getting old. My dear sweet hubby even bought a used dishwasher over a year ago and has yet to install it. Oh the insanity. So I guess I better get off the computer, slide the yellow rubbermaid gloves on and get to work. Just thought I'd let you in on my life.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!!!

We celebrated our first Cinco de Mayo today with a trip to the taco shop for dinner, dressing up in our Mexican attire, doing the Mexican polka around the dinner table, and making cute sombrero cookies for dessert. Visit my other blog for more details, photos, and videos. I had more planned but we decided to quit at about 9:30 at night. Buenos noches, mis amigos!

Poor Baby

This was my little Julianne in her highchair after church. She just layed down on her blanket and was so tuckered out from 11:00 church. She got more action than normal, because I taught Gabriela's sunbeam class today. Notice her hair? Yeah I know. Don't ask. I tried fixing her hair this morning in pigtails and she gets absolutely livid. My other girls are used to having their hair pulled because I've been doing it since they were three months old, but not Julianne. As far as she's concerned she could care less to have it done. Her hair is just barely able to be pulled up into pigtails on top, but once we were at church she yanked one out. I fixed it when it was wet and it dryed standing up. I had to take the other one out for fear that someone might think I stuck a lop sided ponytail on her head. Unfortunately, it stood up worse than the first. Oh, well! So she had a bad hair day. I just adore her though. I don't think I could love another baby as much as I have loved her.
