"Am I A Bad Mother?"

As a Mom I often find myself asking the same question over and over again in my mind.

"Am I A Bad Mother?"

Am I a bad mother because I never let my kids sleep in the same bed together?

Am I a bad mother because I usually say "No way" when the cashier asks me if my kids can have a Smarty?

Am I a bad mother because I give my kids carmel dipping sauce so they will eat frest apples?

Am I a bad mother because I rarely can get my kids to eat their "5 a day"?

Am I a bad mother because I let my kids strip to their underwear at a public beach?

Am I a bad mother because I never take them to the doctor over a cold?

Am I a bad mother because I hardly ever wash my kids face after they eat?

Am I a bad mother because.... you get the idea

And quite frankly, I don't think I'm a bad Mom. Maybe a little uptight, but probably pretty normal. If you have figured out a way to get your kids to eat well balanced nutritional meals including vegetables, please tell me your secret! I think most of my stress comes from feeding my kids. Saying no to sweets and trying to bribe them into eating healthy foods. Until then, I'm relying on those good ole' multivitamins to get us through.

hey I ask myself this question multiple times a day. But honestly it's for different things... like letting him have candy, and always saying yes to the free smarties. But, Nathan loves his vegetables. Example: Yesterday he ate two helpings of broccoli, but had a hard time with the chicken and stuffing. He also loves green beans. My trick: butter and salt. Yep, that's right, but honestly it usually works. and after he knows he likes them and there's not as much butter or salt, he hardly notices. Good Luck! And I'm sure you're a great Mom! As for me... I guess time will tell.

I'd let them have the smarties. But I don't like free suckers; too messy!

But no, you're not a bad mother; you're doing a great job with those little girls.

You certainly are one of the best moms I know! There is a fabulous book called Get Your Kids to Eat Great and Love it that totally changed the way Sophie eats. You have the power!! You just need some fun ideas. It definitely takes multiple exposures. Don't force your kids to eat anything, but always put veggies on their plate and some day, they'll surprise you and eat it and love it! I have the book if you want to borrow it.
