So if you will notice at the top of my blog to the right, you will see a new link. It is to my new experimental project. It's entitled Finding Joy in the Journey Through Family Fun. You can read the first post and then our first activity today. I'm out to enjoy my children more by providing us activites that will create memories and bring us together. I realize that fun things aren't just going to fall in my lap, but that it takes work and planning, but in the end it will be worth it. Check it out and I would love to here what you think.
I'm posting everthing as a journal and also to help others who are looking for fun things to do. If you have any ideas for me or things that you and your children have done, please, please, please, comment and let me know. Thanks!

What a Night!
Last night was a great night for me! No, I didn't win the crown, but it was a great accomplishment to make it through the night and I wouldn't change a thing or have any regrets about my performance. I was glad to make top 10 and be able to complete the whole pageant even if it meant answering on stage questions. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and for coming and cheering me on. You are the best and made me feel like a winner.

Why I love Spring!
I am a completely different woman I think during the warm and sunny months of the year. I seem to just relax and chill out. While my big girls were napping yesterday, I took Julianne out for some spring time photos in our yard. Who says dandilions are weeds anyways? We have some wild flowers and a few tulips growing out front and they are beautiful to the eye right now. Plus Julianne was looking extra cute yesterday. She wasn't so sure about sitting in them until she realized she could pick them and try to eat them. I tried reasoning with her, but she insisted they were blueberries and looked good to her. Mother Nature sure knows how to put me in a good mood. Too bad she's unpredictable in Utah.

Am I crazy?
So I was trying to think of a distraction/entertainment for the girls while I hopped in the shower. When I came out Gabriela was so thrilled about her picture that she just kept begging me to come see. When I went in the kitchen, this is what I found. Sophia was painting her hands and apparently her lips. Actually if I know her like I think I do, she was probably tasting it. Anybody know if IKEA kids paint is toxic? They had mixed all of the colors and it was this strange green color. And do you know what I thought of...
Yep, you guessed it! The WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST. Especially in her black apron. I was really tempted to paint her face and complete the look, but she was already mad at me for taking the picture and begging me to wash her hands. Well into the tub they went and they are squeaky clean little MUNCHKINS now.

On any given day.
This is what you might encounter at our house on any given day. The latest craze is coloring. Gabriela absolutely loves it and I 'm so impressed by the concentration she had to finish an entire picture. She's quite skilled I'm tellin' ya. Julianne loves to taste the crayons and Sophia is usually around doing her own thing. If you'll notice, Julianne's clothes do not match because she usually messes up her shirts and goes through two a day. At that point I don't care if she matches anymore. I also don't mind the coloring thing. It's one activity I actually enjoy doing with them as opposed to playing Barbie's or princesses. It's pathetic that my imagination has gone and left me. So like I said before, if you were to stop by on any given day you might catch us like this (not matching, hairs a mess, no makeup, house a wreck, but enjoying each other!)

Happy Easter!!!
Happy Easter Sunday everyone! It couldn't be a more beautiful day. My mother sent these adorable dresses for the girls and they were perfect. Thanks Mom. Our sacrament service was exceptional. We had David Glen Hatch play the piano and a professional opera singer sing for us. Julianne was a handful, but that's the great thing about music. We could still enjoy it even while wrestling children. I taught Relief Society and it went great, so all in all, it's been a wonderul day.

We have a SUPER STAR ladies and gentleman!
So Gabriela's big night was last night and she was so amazing. She shook her little bum like a pro. I felt pure joy as a parent watching my little one on that big stage. It was a great parenting moment. We love our little dancer and I'm so glad she enjoys herself. When she had tech rehersal, I asked her if her favorite part was being on that great big stage. She said, "No, my favorite part is when people clap for me!" She also wanted me to yell her name. After the show, she said, "Mom did you hear me...I was yelling for you." I didn't really see her yelling for anyone. I think she was making that up. Can't wait for more concerts and more opportunities to be my little girl's cheerleader.

Gearing up for the big dance performance!
So Gabriela's first dance recital is on Friday and the house is a buzz with anticipation. She's been practicing up a storm, so much so, that I think Sophia's learning it as well. She had dance photos and so we had to get the hair in rollers again. This was the pose she said she was going to do for her pictures. I love the serious face.
What ever is done to one, must be done to the other of course.
