Life's always changing.

If you're wondering why I never put anything new on my blog lately, it's because I never have time. It has been such a rat race since the beginning of the year. The new job ended up being more than the family could take, so I quit on Friday. I actually felt bad leaving the teacher and students, but sometimes we have to do what's best for everyone. I think Miguel realizes how much the home needs me. I was able to visit with some of my ballroom buddies from back in the day this week and it was so fun. I hadn't seen Melissa for probably five years. It was nice to get out and be with the girls and catch up. I don't get to do that very often. So it got me thinking about the old days, before I was married and had three kids, and I decided to post some old photos of me in my prime.

Our Little Sophia Turns 2!

Our sweet little Sophia is 2 now. Yesterday was her birthday and we were all very excited. We had plans to go to Kangaroo Zoo, but once we got there it was so packed because all schools were out from the holiday. We bagged it for another day and headed to Toys R Us. Sophia ended up getting a red wagon and we ran into Grandma and Grandpa there and she convinced them she needed a tricycle. In preparation for our family party, I made these cute little dresses for Sophia and Gabriela to go along with our Strawberry Shortcake theme. I usually don't have anything to brag about, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I also found the nerve to make my first birthday cake. It was a smashing success I think. What would Strawberry Shortcake have for her birthday cake...of course a cupcake cake. I'm taking orders. Just kidding. It was a fun time. We played stick the jewel on the princesses crown and dress up like Miguel relay. The family is so good to go along with my insane ideas. It's been such a great year with our little Sophia.

O.K. these photos where meant to go at the end, but oh well. This is the girls in the tub today. Sophia likes to FLOAT on her back for some reason. I think she swallows a gallon of water by doing it, but it's funny none the less. Gabriela likes to just be silly and put beards on.

This is the girls on the first Sunday in January. Gabriela's first day as a Sunbeam. Maybe I'll post pictures of her at church later.

Wow. I have been such a blogging slacker lately. It actually tells you what my life is like right now. I was able to travel home over the last five days with my baby (Miguel stayed home with the older girls) to spend time with my family because of the death of my granddaddy. I was just so thankful for the gospel which gave me the strength to be able to support and comfort my family members. I had the priviledge of being one of the speakers at the graveside service for him. It was a good experience in which I was able to share my testimony, my memories, and share the plan of salvation. The hardest part was seeing how much pain my sweet grandmother was in from losing her companion of sixty years. I just can't imagine.

Now that I'm home I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. With my mini job, as I like to call it, I have little time for goofing off. I'm up at 5:30 every morning to get in my scripture study and exercise before I shower, feed the girls, and get dressed before getting to the elementary school at 9:00. I have been introduced to the rat race. As soon as Miguel walks in the door in the morning, I give him a high five and maybe a kiss, and I'm out and on my way. As soon as I get back we high five it again and out he goes. It's exhausting but a good experience as well.

Things worth mentioning:

Gabriela is now a genuine Sunbeam, which she's ecstatic about.

Gabriela has withdrawn from preschool to persue her career as a professional dancer.

Julianne has finally cut her first tooth.

Sophia turns 2 on Monday.

Lindsay has finally entered pageant season.

In Loving Memory of Hasle Albert Robinson

My Grandfather passed away last night. He was a good man of faith and a wonderful example of service. I look forward to celebrating his life with my family in Georgia soon. I know that he is with our Heavenly Father and is finally feeling the peace he deserves after struggling with health for so long. We will miss him, but concider it an honor to be apart of his posterity. May we all live up to the example he set. We love you Granddad.

Merry Christmas to All!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with Miguel's family. We had a wonderful dinner that was followed by a presentation of the nativity. Little Julianne was the star. She did great flying through the air, thanks to her dad, and held on tight to it.
Gabriela about had a meltdown when she realized she wasn't picked to be Mary, but overcame her disappointment once she was decked out as an angel. Sophia was a lowely shepard abiding in the field. We opened gifts and had a great time. The family talent show was a hit again. Miguel and I graced everyone with a jitterbug routine we stole from "Dancing with the Stars." It had a few glitches, but the audience was still generous with their applause. Miguel, Gabriela, and Sophia stole the show with their techno dancing version of Amazing Grace. (I'll post video soon, since I got the techno to do so for Christmas). The girls looked cute as ever in the dresses my Mom made. These are by far my favorites. They looked like little wrapped gifts. They even let me put their hair in curlers the night before.

Santa was good to the girls again this year. Gabriela wanted a princess maker (?), so Santa brought her a lot of princess dolls. She also got an art easel with supplies since she is a budding artist. Sophia got a new baby doll, highchair, and playpen which she likes as well as a cleaning set. Julianne got a piggy bank toy and a cash register/market toy. Our house is a mess, I'm sure like everyone elses, but it's worth it. It's been great and the kiddos make the holidays so much more fun.
